Dr. Eric Schikowski

A partner in the Stow Dental Group, Dr. Eric Schikowski has practiced general dentistry since 1989. He and his staff are dedicated to providing state of the art dentistry in a comfortable relaxed environment.

Dr. Eric Schikowski graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in biology. He received his DDS degree from Ohio State University School of Dentistry. Following dental school he participated in a general practice residency program at Cleveland Metro General Hospital.

Dr. Schikowski is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Akron Dental Association, a general member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a member in the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics, the world’s premier society for the study of TMJ disorders. He is also an active member in the North American Neuromuscular Study Club, as well as a founding member of the Northeast Ohio Neuromuscular Study Club. Dr. Schikowski is a graduate of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, having taken numerous Neuromuscular and Cosmetic programs at this premier dental teaching facility.

A strong believer in continuing education, he has focused his continued training in the areas of Musculoskeletal Disorders; head, neck, and facial pain disorders; complex occlusal, restorative problems; orthodontics; and jaw/skull orthopedics. His focus is providing his patients with state of the art aesthetics and smile enhancements, as well as attaining upper head/neck posturing and muscular pain relief, many times not realized as being largely influenced from an improper bite. With the goal of educating patients on airway obstruction (sleep apnea, enlarged tonsils and adenoids etc.) and their effects on normal (ideal) cranial (head) and facial growth in both adults AND growing children, Dr.Schikowski works with specialists in various disciplines sometimes including ENT, Chiropractors, Nutritionists, Physical Therapists, Psychiatrists, Sleep Clinicians, Neurologists, and Orthopedists to achieve ideal head/upper cervical neck health.

We share with our patients what it takes to be healthy and often can look at a person’s mouth and make many observations as to their level of health.
